India’s recent 100-run triumph over England at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium extended their winning streak to six consecutive matches. With an impressive run, the host team stands in a strong position to secure a crucial top-four finish in the tournament.
Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is likely to join Team India in Mumbai, but still not certain to play against Sri Lanka. Pandya is currently recovering from his ankle injury that he sustained in the match against Bangladesh in Pune on October 19.
Pandya, who had slipped in his follow-through, missed the matches against New Zealand and England. His absence led to Suryakumar Yadav and Mohammed Shami’s inclusion in the playing XI.
