MUMBAI: The Wankhede Stadium is set for a major upgrade with the installation of LED floodlights. Following the refurbishment of the President’s Box, hospitality boxes, and the media box for the 2023 ODI World Cup, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has now initiated the installation of LED floodlights at the venue.
On Friday, the MCA announced a tender for the “LED Floodlighting system with DMX controls at Wankhede Stadium” on its website.
Top cricket stadiums in India, such as the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, already feature LED floodlights.
The association had invited tenders last year for the same purpose but decided to postpone the project due to time constraints before the World Cup.
