NEW DELHI: MS Dhoni‘s age-defying catch sent the cricketing world and his fans into a frenzy with the former Chennai Super Kings skipper showing that he still possesses lightning-quick reflexes and an unparalleled sense of anticipation on the field.
During CSK’s clash with the Gujarat Titans, Daryl Mitchell delivered a full delivery around the off-stump to Vijay Shankar. Shankar attempted a straight drive but only managed to edge the ball.

A vintage Dhoni dived to his right and pulled off a spectacular catch, sending Shankar back to the pavilion.Witnessing the veteran’s remarkable effort behind the stumps, the Chepauk crowd erupted in joy.
The match also saw Ajinkya Rahane pull off a blinder by diving forward to dismiss David Miller.
Talking about the CSK’s great fielding effort, former India opener Virender Sehwag said Rahane’s catch was a brilliant one and also acknowledged Dhoni’s, but humorously labelled him as ‘buzurg’.
“Catches win matches. Ajinkya Rahane picked a good catch so did Rachin Ravindra. Buzurg (old) MS Dhoni also picked one,” Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.

Rohan Gavaskar, who was also part of the discussion quickly pointed him out saying, “You didn’t refer to Rahane as buzurg.”
Sehwag remained adamant on his claim saying there is a significant age gap between Rahane and Dhoni.
“Their age is not the same, there is a difference and Rahane is also fitter than MS Dhoni. There is a big difference between a 35-year-old and a 41-year-old (42). MS is getting old now there is no doubt about it,” said Sehwag.
