NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh showcased remarkable resilience to secure a two-wicket victory over the 41-time champions and hosts Mumbai in a gripping Ranji Trophy match on Monday.
Aryan Juyal‘s impressive innings of 76 and Karan Sharma‘s resilient 67 played a pivotal role in UP’s triumph in Mumbai.
Mumbai, starting the final day at 303/8 in their second innings, were eventually bowled out for 320.The duo of Juyal and Karan set the stage for a challenging chase of 195, crafting a crucial 104-run partnership for the third wicket after UP faced early setbacks.

Despite facing consistent wickets from Mumbai’s bowling attack, Karan Sharma displayed exceptional composure, finishing unbeaten with a resilient 67 runs off 173 balls, including seven boundaries and two sixes. This innings steered UP to victory, earning them six valuable points.
The visitors concluded their innings at 195/8 in nearly 70 overs, with Mumbai’s right-arm off-spinner Tanush Kotian leading the fightback with an impressive bowling performance, securing figures of 5/58.
Andhra beat Chhattisgarh in a one-sided match
Andhra dominated the hosts Chhattisgarh, securing a comprehensive 126-run victory in a one-sided contest at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur.
Chasing a target of 320, the hosts were bowled out for a mere 193, despite a resilient effort from opener Eknath Kerkar, who contributed a steadfast 76 runs off 199 balls. Skipper Amandeep Khare added a quickfire 67 off 55 balls, including seven fours and two sixes, recording his second fifty of the game.
Andhra’s all-round performance was the highlight of the match, with Hanuma Vihari’s impressive 183 in the first innings, where they posted a total of 431. This substantial score created significant pressure on Chhattisgarh throughout the game.
In the second innings, bowlers Nitish Kumar Reddy (3/36) and Prasanth Kumar (3/21) played pivotal roles, while Prithvi Raj Yarra (2/40) and Girinath Reddy (1/25) also contributed. With this dominating display, Andhra earned a well-deserved six points from the match.
Bihar earn three points after draw against Kerala
Bihar secured three points from their encounter against Kerala by establishing a 150-run lead in the first innings at the Moin ul Haq Stadium in Patna.
Despite a commendable unbeaten century by Sachin Baby, who scored 109 runs, Kerala managed to take a 70-run lead in the second innings. However, the match ultimately concluded in a draw.
In the first innings, Bihar posted a total of 377 in response to Kerala’s 227. Despite Sachin Baby’s outstanding performance, the overall result favored Bihar, allowing them to earn three points from the contest.
