NEW DELHI: November 30 is the last day for player registrations for the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction ahead of the 2024 season.
The auction is scheduled for December 19, and the players who have obtained no-objection certificates (NOC) from the boards of their respective countries have only time until the end of day today to register themselves and stand a chance to be included in the auction pool.What’s expected
Around 700 players are expected to register.
Who are the big names
Australia’s World Cup-winning players are expected to invite a bidding war among the 10 franchises. Big names like Aussie skipper Pat Cummins, fast bowler Mitchell Starc and Travis Head, who scored a century in the World Cup final against India, are among the hot properties, besides the Kiwi batters Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell.
Starc has been approached by five IPL franchises already, according to Cricbuzz that quoted sources in Cricket Australia. England all-rounder Ben Stokes has withdrawn from the auction.

Process after registration
Once the registration deadline ends, the 10 franchises will put their minds together to prepare a shortlist.
How many for how much
It is expected that about 70 players will have the ‘sold’ tag beside their name and approximately Rs 262.95 crore changing hands.

77 among 10 squads, including 30 for foreign players.
