India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel has answered the team’s call to find a reliable glovesman who can bat ever since Rishabh Pant was sidelined due to an accident, and the youngster has arrived on the international stage in style.
The 23-year-ld Jurel was adjudged the ‘Player of the Match’ in just his second Test for his priceless knock of 90 runs in the first innings of the fourth Test against England in Ranchi.He then came out determined to fight it out on a wearing fourth-day track to score an unbeaten 39, in partnership with Shubman Gill, to script a series-clinching five-wicket win for the hosts.

Jurel’s knock of 90 had also received lavish praise from the legendary Sunil Gavaskar, who likened his clamness as a wicketkeeper and as a batsman to the iconic MS Dhoni.

India now lead the five-Test series 3-1, with the last Test to be played in Dharamsala from March 7 now consequential only for the all-important World Test Champonships points.
