Former India opener Wasim Jaffer, speaking on ESPNCricinfo, expressed admiration for Parag’s resurgence, suggesting that the young batter might be on the radar for the upcoming T20 World Cup squad.
“Riyan Parag is emerging to be a sensational player in this IPL. It’s pretty refreshing to see a young player performing like this,” remarked Jaffer, highlighting Parag’s transformation from past criticism to present consistency.

“The hard work is showing. He is fitter, and he looks composed. His shot selection is good; he has faced significant trolling over the past few years,” Jaffer continued.
“Looking at his form, I won’t be surprised if selectors are considering him for the T20 World Cup. The way he has played shows consistency, and I won’t be surprised if we see him there,” Jaffer added.
Parag’s resurgence has been evident throughout the IPL season, with impactful innings that have propelled him to second place in the list of highest run-scorers.
Starting with a blistering 43 against Lucknow Super Giants, Parag followed up with unbeaten half-centuries against Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians.
