On Saturday, Mumbai Indians’ official X handle shared a video of its cricketers celebrating victory after the match against RCB.
Titled, ‘Heading into the weekend with Romario’s words of encouragement’, the video has an impromptu victory speech by Romario Shepherd.
“Today we came here for a win and you know we did it. Well bowled to Booms (Jasprit Bumrah). Also with the bat couldn’t have asked for a better start from Kishan (Ishan) and Ro (Rohit Sharma). We never take the foot off the gas, we keep going and you know to the end we played aggressive cricket and that’s the way we talk about the play. Skip (Hardik Pandya) well played,” Shepherd says.
And just before he is about to end his impromptu speech, the knock of Suryakumar Yadav came to his mind.
“Oh, SKY”, Shepherd exclaims to which Suryakumar Yadav replies, “Hi!”, as all the Mumbai Indians players break into a laughter.

Mumbai Indians had a horrible start to IPL 2024 with 3 consecutive defeats.
Mumbai Indians’ first win came against Delhi Capitals last Sunday when they registered a 29-run victory.
Romario Shepherd crashed a 10-ball 39 in an unbeaten stand of 53 off 13 deliveries with Tim David, who struck 45, to steer Mumbai to 234/5 at their home Wankhede Stadium.
Delhi finished on 205/8, despite Tristan Stubbs’ unbeaten 25-ball 71.
Mumbai Indians’ second victory came on Thursday when Jasprit Bumrah took five wickets to wreck Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s innings before two sharp fifties by Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav sealed an easy seven-wicket win.
With 2 wins in 5 matches, Mumbai Indians are at the seventh spot in the points table.
